See your dog differently
A memoir about loving two reactive dogs, and the framework I built to understand them.
Some dogs don't fit the training-book mold. They bark when they shouldn't, shut down when you least expect it, or make you feel judged every time you leave the house. If that sounds familiar, you're not doing it wrong, and you're not alone. This is the story of life with Rosco, a fear-based worrier, and Rei, a Korean village dog rescue who reacts out of frustration, and what it took to finally understand them.
This isn't a training guide. It's the honest, sometimes messy story of learning to see my dogs clearly, built on Kim Brophey's L.E.G.S. framework and the four-part approach I developed from living it myself.

Jennyfer Tan is a Certified Family Dog Mediator and Professional Dog Trainer based in Vancouver, BC, and the founder of R+R Canine Consulting. She lives with Rosco and Rei, two reactive dogs who taught her more about patience, communication, and unconditional love than any textbook could. She is also the creator of the podcast Under the Same Roof, a narrated essay series about living with dogs in neurodivergent households.
